Over the past couple of years, the Street Rod community has seen several new radical and swoopy fiberglass cars. Although their quality is subject to scrutiny, the eye appeal of these cars is not arguable. Redneck’s first hybrid is called the Cabster. It combines the awesome look of a '33 Ford with Cabriolet’s functionality and comforts, such as power windows, A/C and heat. It mounts on an original style '33 frame and utilizes off-the-shelf parts, yet this cutting edge innovation offers these built-in features new to the entire industry:

While giving the car a fresh, custom look, we subtly redesigned the hood sides to follow the lines of the cowl and the hood top to follow the windshield line straight across the cowl. We also rounded the trunk the corners for a custom look. The Cabster is fitted with a three-window coupe-length door, giving the car a longer and lower appearance, and most importantly, a larger cockpit than a normal roadster. This larger door also opens further than a traditional roadster and swings on our own stainless hinges. The Cabster features cowl mounted wipers and a custom one-of-a-kind wrap around dash resembling a smooth ‘32 style dash. The intricate body lines of the dash follow into the door tops and around the rear package area surround.

The photos to the left are of the very first Cabster produced. This car was used as the prototype to test new options and fit for future models. The photos above show the car with the removable hard top. As you would expect, the top is extremely durable, yet it is light enough that a husband and wife team can easily handle removal and installation. Unlike our competitors, this top features a full inner-structure for strength and a state-of-the-art latching system.

We are also developing a folding Soft Top for the Cabster. It will be available in a variety of colors. Photos will be added to this website as soon as they are available. At Redneck, we pride ourselves in providing variety to suit every Street Rodder. If you are a die-hard Roadster fan, the car can be ordered without windows or a top and the door tops will remain filled. You can even order both a hard and soft top if you want! Both tops will be priced as optional accessories.
