Doug Porter of Danville, Va. received his channeled
Redneck 33 Coupe and Pete & Jakes chassis in late July of 2008. Doug owns an Auto parts store in Danville, so needless to say he knows what it takes to build a piece like this. The build of the car only took 5 months, nights and weekends, from top to bottom. Doug says” The quality of body put out by Redneck is the only reason the project could be done in this time frame. If you price around you will find that Redneck costs a bit more but it is worth every penny you spend. You will be pleased with the straightness and lack of blocking needed. I only used about a qt of filler on the whole project and saved myself a lot of time. I have seen bodies made by other companies and there is no comparison; these are quality bodies!” You can see by the outcome Doug knows how to build.
Shortly after the car was finished, Doug was approached by a collector dealer in Maryland to see if he would be interested in selling it. The money was right and Doug let it roll down the road. After a short stint with the collector in Maryland the car was purchased and shipped across the country to Scotty Gray. A renowned collector in California. Scotty added a few of his little tricks to make his own as you see it now!! Great car with plenty of ol' school attitude.
